[UPDATE] Leipzig: Konami unveils GTI Club + for PSN

Konami Digital Entertainment announced today that it will be bringing a remake of the 1996 PC racer GTI Club to PlayStation Network later this year.
Known as GTI Club +, the game will sport HD visuals in addition to an eight player online multiplayer mode, and is currently scheduled for release this November.
No further details have been revealed at this point.

UPDATE: The first trailer for this PlayStation Network exclusive has been released.

Fantastic news! GTI Club: Rally Cote D'Azur was a great arcade game (it was never available on the PC but I presume that it is playable on MAME) which saw you charging around the south of France in a selection of hatchbacks like the Golf GTi, Mini Cooper and Renault 5. It was notable for having lots of shortcuts and also handbrake for navigating tight hairpins corners. What's going to be potentially very exciting is the online multiplayer mode, as the arcade also had a 2 player "bom tag" mode where you drive around with a bomb that counts down that you have to tag to your oponent.
Here's hoping Konami brings Winding Heat to the PS3 as well.

@5 thanks for the info. maybe you should be writing psu news instead of these guys. lol back on topic it sounds like it would have been a cool game ... in the early 90's.
